Mini Mid-Century Modern Style

Anyone that knows me well, knows that I have a thing for the 1960’s! I live in a 60’s house, listen to a lot of 60’s music, and watch reruns of Bewitched and I Dream of Jeanie every chance I get! Don’t even get me started on Mad Men and how there are only 3 episodes left! I watch every episode twice and spend far too much time analysing every little detail! Needless to say, I love Mid-Century Modern design! Today I want to share some of my favourite Mid-Century Modern picks for kids. These items are a mix of mid-century designed pieces and contemporary pieces that are mid-century in feel! Most of these items have a designer price tag which is not always so budget-friendly. Consider teaming up a designer investment piece, like the Eames Hang It All, with more afforable designs, like the alternative options offered below the Mid-Century Modern selection.

1. Rosy Casa Doll by Marilyn Neuhart 2. Raitti-Laatikkotorni blocks by Aino-Maija Metsola for Marrimeko  3. 95 Cats Mobile by Flensted Mobiles 4. Vitra Elihu The Elephant Clock by George Nelson 5. Songbirds by Kay Bojeson, produced by Rosendahl 6. Hang It All by Ray & Charles Eames 7. Akari Paper Lamp by Isamu Noguchi 8.  Raitti Palika farm set by Aino-Maija Metsola for Marimekko 9. Componibili by Anna Castelli Ferrieri for Kartell Pictured Bottom: The original bent plywood Eames Elephant prototype and the plastic Vitra produced Eames Elephant available since 2008

The products above would hold their own with any of the designer products in the first selection, but with less impact on your wallet!

1. Let’s Travel Print by Blancucha 2. Handmade Vintage 70’s Fabric Cat Toy by Jane Foster 3. Charley Harper Birds Mobile 4. Winston Wooden Elephant Clock by Habitat
