I like to think of myself as someone who likes camping, but maybe I like the idea of it a bit more than the reality. I have been camping three times in the past three years. Two of those three times were in the beautiful Brecon Beacons in Wales. Both of our Welsh camping adventures ended in embarrassing defeat on the second day. How do you lose at camping? Easy, you simply check into a hotel after 16 straight hours of torrential rain! I have found that I cannot be content in a tent for very long! I don’t have children, but when I do, I hope to take them on camping adventures, or maybe just decorate their room in a fun camping theme! It would look something like this!
The adorable Children’s Tent Bed is sold by Idyll Home and available at notonthehighstreet.com. It comes in 22 lacquered paint finishes. If a tent bed isn’t quite budget-friendly enough, then maybe the Stripy Black Collapsible Play Tent by Cuurio is a better option, also available from notonthehighstreet.com. It’s perfect for a shady place to play outdoors or to camp inside. How cute is this How Do You Zoo fox sleeping bag from Land of Nod! It can also be personalised! Sleepover perfection!
As a lot of people already know, Etsy is the best for all things handmade or vintage! I think the Bare Necessities Canvas Banner by Little Low strikes the perfect balance of cute and childlike without being too twee, and the same can be said for the I Can’t Bear to Be Without You art, which is an instant digital download by Etsy shop Kiwi In the Clouds. The Raccoon pillow cover is sold by Etsy seller SmileTee.
These items are on the pricier side for a child’s room, but totally worth having! The tree trunk stool/side table is the Saint-Esprit Gnome Stool by Philippe Starck for Kartell, available from Nest. I have the Attila Gnome stool from the same collection in my bathroom to hold my towel! Buffalo plaid for a camping themed room is a no-brainer! There are less expensive versions out there, but I bet this one by Woolrich John Rich Bros for J. Crew is a bit more luxurious! The last item is something that I do own, the indoor/outdoor FollowMe lamp. It was designed by Inma Bermúdez for Marset. This light not only looks great, but it also has a USB port because it’s rechargeable and can be taken anywhere! Your child can use it in bed or as a night light because it never gets too hot! Use it for evenings in the garden or camping! So far we love it and definitely recommend it! Available from twentytwentyone.com
